Sinus lift is a surgical procedure performed in the upper jaw when there is insufficient bone for dental implant placement. During the procedure, the sinus membrane is lifted, and new bone tissue is formed.

❓ What is sinus lift?

The maxillary sinuses are air-filled cavities above the molars. When these teeth are lost, the bone thins, and the sinus "drops". During the sinus lift operation:

  • The sinus membrane is lifted
  • The cavity is filled with bone substitute
  • A foundation for the implant is created
  • Implant stability is ensured

Procedure Methods

Closed Sinus Lift

A less invasive procedure performed when there is a small lack of bone height (3-4 mm). Performed through the implant drilling hole.

Open Sinus Lift

Used when there is a significant bone deficiency. A "window" is formed in the side of the jaw. This is a reliable way to create a large bone volume.

⏱ Healing and Care

Is it painful after surgery?

Aching and swelling may be felt (especially on day 2-3), but this is controlled with medication.

How much does a sinus lift cost?

Closed lift: ~400-600€. Open lift: from 800€. The exact price depends on the amount of materials used.
